Triton Imaging and Kraken Sonar Systems announce OEM Agreement to bundle their Aquapix Synthetic Aperature Sonar (SAS) with Perspective for data processing.

Capitola, California , USA , February 8, 2013 - Triton Imaging, Inc., of Capitola, California and Kraken Sonar Systems Inc. of St. John’s, Newfoundland has announced that they have signed an OEM agreement under which Kraken will offer Triton Perspective software bundled with their AquaPix Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS).

With this arrangement, AquaPix users can have the advantage of using the Perspective software to process high-resolution SAS and associated interferometric bathymetric data to create highly detailed seabed imagery, mosaics and bathymetric 3D digital terrain models. The Perspective GIS-based software provides the multi-sensor processing functions that can enhance the fusion of the coregistered imagery and bathymetry produced by the AquaPix system.

The image to the right shows a mosaic created with the Perspective software using SAS data collected from a recent AquaPix sea trial. The power of the integration of AquaPix and Perspective can be seen in this image that maintains a consistent 3cm resolution across the barge at a range of 90 meters.

AquaPix enables seabed images with unprecedented image resolution and detail. The exceptional image quality improves accuracy and increases confidence in decision-making. AquaPix is capable of providing detailed seabed images with a constant resolution better than 3cm out to a range of 300m from each side of an underwater vehicle (600m swath). It can also produce 3D bathymetric data with a resolution and depth accuracy in compliance with IHO S44 special order requirements.

The system provides cost-effective and ultra-high resolution imagery that’s ideal for mine countermeasures, Q-route surveys, wreck searches, cable/pipeline survey and a wide variety of other seabed imaging and surveillance missions. “Our agreement with Triton is another example of our dedication to bringing our customers best-inclass solutions,” said Karl Kenny, Kraken’s President and CEO. “Customers will greatly benefit from the flexibility that this integrated solution provides.”

TRITON OFFERS LOOK INTO THE FUTURE AT Oi06

Watsonville, California, USA, April 12 , 2006Industry experts attending the recent Oceanology International conference in London got a sneak preview of some of the exciting work-in-progress at Triton Imaging.

The new Triton TAP processing software continued to demonstrate Triton's focus on increasing automation and reducing operating costs through innovation.  TAP features temporal and geographic fusion of disparate sensor data.  All files for a survey can be opened and are available for analysis and intepretation with selection of a single folder containing all sensor data; sidescan, sub-bottom, multibeam, video, digital camera, mag, etc.  The unique temporal displays of TAP show sensor data as tracks very similar to a video editing application.  By moving the selector to any point in the time line, all sensor data collected at that time is quickly displayed.  The techology under the hood that permits this quick, temporally registered, access to all sensor data is a unique caching system developed by Triton.

Mosaics, DTMs, and other geo-coded products are easily created in TAP's map display with the push of a single button.  Selecting a geographic point, say on an S-57 chart in TAP's map display, automatically and instantanously moves TAP's sensor data displays to the corresponding point in time when the data at that point was collected.  This blend of temporal and geographic data fusion is new in the industry and will lead to faster and more efficient processing of complex, multi-sensor data sets.

NOAA Selects TRITON Software for Reson 7125

Watsonville, California, USA, March 16, 2006Triton Imaging announced today that the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Coast Survey has purchased Triton software to acquire data from their new Reson 7125 multibeam sonars.  Triton’s MB-Logger™and associated real-time QC software modules will be used with the Reson 7125 on two NOAA vessels.  The hydrographic vessel Thomas Jefferson will be fitted with a dual-head version of the 7125 and will be used for hydrographic charting operations.

A second vessel, used by NOAA Navigational Response Team in a Port Security application, will host the Triton software in a single-head 7125 configuration. Triton’s multibeam and sidescan acquisition software offers NOAA the flexibility to upgrade to virtually all modern sonars as they enter the market.  New Triton interfaces for the latest sonars include the Reson 7125, the Edgetech MPX & 4200, and the Benthos C3D & 1624.
