Add Underwater Places to Google Earth

Product Image

Google Earth allows users to see satellite views of any location on earth. Triton's Underwater Imaging technology takes you even deeper by using data acquired from sonar scans of the ocean and transforming it into images that allow you to discover a new world under the surface.

If you haven't installed Google Earth, you can download the free version of this software at the Google Earth Homepage. If you have questions about installing the software, additional help is available in the Getting Started Guide, Google Earth FAQ or by following our troubleshooting tips.

Tips to View Triton's Underwater Images

If Google Earth doesn't open and move directly to the image you clicked on, here's some troubleshooting advice.

  • If you are using Windows XP, you will see a dialog asking whether you'd like to Open or Save the file, select Save and then Open the file after it has finished downloading. If you would prefer for Windows XP to automatically lauch the file in Google Earth, you can change your Internet Explorer options.

Google Earth images pose no threat to your computer system, so you can also uncheck 'Always ask before opening this type of file'.

  • If you double-click on the downloaded file and nothing happens, or a file opens directly in your browser, double-check that you have Google Earth installed correctly. If Google Earth is properly installed, you will see an icon for it in your Start Menu under the Program Menu.

If you cannot find the Google Earth, you may need to run the Google Earth installer again. Simply find the file you downloaded earlier and double-click on Setup icon.

  • If you experience any other problem, please let us know by sending an email using our Support Help form.
