Upgrading from earlier versions of the Chico driver

It is essential that all previous   .DLLS, executables and .SYS files are removed from the Target machine before running the new installation.

In most cases simply removing the hardware drivers and then uninstalling the original Chico program will achieve this:

Removing the hardware drivers

1.       Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel

2.       Double Click Add/Remove Hardware

3.       Click Next and select “Uninstall/Unplug a device” and click “Next”

4.       Select Uninstall/Unplug a device and click “Next”

5.       In the next window select “Chico board “ from the list  (or “WDM Chico baseboard”)

6.       Select “Yes, I want to uninstall this device” and click “Next”

7.       Click “Finish”

Removing the Chico-Armada Software

1.       Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel

2.       Double Add/Remove Programs

3.       In the displayed list of program locate “Chico-Armada” and click on it.

4.       Click “Change/Remove” > Yes

5.       The routine will remove the various files and report “Uninstall Successfully completed”

6.       Click OK

7.       You may receive a message “Some files could not be removed”

8.       Use Explorer to search for the folder C:\Chico and delete it.

In most cases this will remove all the files from the machine. However, if the uninstall fails, or if the files were originally loaded onto the system without using the Install routine then you need to check for, and remove, any copies of the following files, wherever they may be on the system:

CalienteDll5.dll             Nsppx.dll                      Cpuinf32.dll

GraphSupport5.dll          IIWDMDriver.inf          IIWDMDriver.sys

Nsp.dll                          Nspm5.dll                     spm6.dll

Nspp6.dll                      Pegrp32a.dll                  UserRegister.dll

Look also in the folder C:\WINNT\INF for any .INF files that reference Innovative Integration typically these files may have “II” in the filename, or be like OEM*.INF.  You can “look inside” any .INF file using Notepad if you are unsure.

When you are sure that all files are removed continue with the instructions to install the new version of the Chico drivers (Chico 2)
