Note: Before connecting a sentinel to a new machine you must install the sentinel driver, the driver can be downloaded here. It is usually best to simply install the driver and then connect the sentinel while the machine is running, it should not be necessary to re-boot.
Most recent PCs have USB connections available on the mother board. Any of these can be used to connect a USB type sentinel, usually there are at least two connections available. The USB sentinel is connected via a standard USB connector and short cable:
The connector is then attached to the case using a "Velcro" pad:
This is a typical USB connector: (in the picture there are two connectors providing a total of 4 USB ports, any can be used)
It is IMPORTANT to connect the cable correctly! The red wire MUST go to Pin 1 !!!
