NOTE: If the Perspective license has the S-57 license option but the 7Cs Kernel has not been installed correctly then an error can be generated when first launching Perspective. Because the error message is generated by the 7Cs application and not by Perspective, the error message is hidden behind the Perspective startup screen. If Perspective fails to start look in the Windows Task Bar click on the item to disply and dismiss the error. Perspective will run but without the S57 chart option.
1. Uninstall all previous versions of Perspective and REMOVE the sentinel drivers. (look for "Sentinel Driver or Sentinel Protection Installer" in Add/Remove programs.
2. Make sure all USB dongles are disconnected.
3. Install the 7Cs Kernel software from the 7Cs CD; install all options from the CD EXCEPT for the sentinel driver (see below). Be sure to use the default settings for the location of the 7Cs libraries and chart files.
.
4. Click "Finish" to complete the installation of the 7Cs software and dongle driver.
5. Install the newer sentinel driver from the Triton CD "Sentinel System Installer v7.5.0" follow defaults.
6. Install Triton Perspective from the Triton CD.
7. Place the license file for Perspective in the \LicenseFiles folder (the license must of course match the Triton system number on the dongle)
8. Connect both the 7Cs dongle AND the Triton Dongle to a USB port.- (You should see the "New Hardware" detected and successfully installed)
9. Leave the USB dongles connected and REBOOT the system.
10. Start Triton Perspective, no licensing errors should occur for Perspective; however you will need to enter the correct license strings for the 7Cs dongle.

The strings are supplied with the dongle.

. NOTE: In the 7Cs Kernel Registration Dialog the "Hardware Identification" String MUST match the Hardware Identification string on the 7Cs license information, if it does not either:
a) The dongle has not been "read" (make sure its connected, go back and check the driver installation above)
b) You have the wrong dongle/license combination, contact Triton customer support for help.
When you first launch Triton Perspective you may receive this message from the 7Cs EC2007 software:

Click through these errors and launch Perspective, go to Settings> ENC and set up the correct paths to 7Cs libraries:

If you receive this message:

It indicates that for some reason the installation of the 7Cs software has not completed properly.
Things to try:
1. Re-boot the system.
2. Re-install the 7Cs software, instead of simply double clicking the file ECK562_WINNT.EXE try RIGHT clicking and Install as > Administrator
After the installation of the 7Cs software you may receive a message from Windows:
"This software may not have installed correctly"
Choose the option "Re-Install using recommended settings" (make sure the 7Cs CD is present)
S-57 ENC (Electronic Navigation Chart) charts are supplied as .000 files. With a standard installation the .000 files will reside in the folder C:\usr\local\data\S57\ENC and within that folder under a folder that has the chart name, for example [US1AK90M]. In order to use the files in Perspective they must first be converted to .7CB files.
If you know the name of the chart you need this conversion is done "on-the-fly" and the chart is displayed in Perspective.
Converterd.7CB files reside in the SENC (System Electronic Navigation Chart) typically C:\usr\local\data\S57\SENC For an automatic search for a chart to work Perspective needs to know the location of this folder, (See above, Program Settings SENC (.7CB files)
The files can residue anywhere of course as long as Perspective knows the Path. - If on a network then the location must be mapped as a drive.
Within the US you can use the NOAA ENC download site:
http://www.nauticalcharts.noaa.gov/mcd/enc/download_agreement.htm
If you know exactly which chart you need, download it and extract the .000 file to the \ENC folder:
In Perspective go to File>Import ENC (S57) Chart:

Click the Import button:

Select ENC (.000) from the dropdown options.
The chart will be converted and displayed.
If you have data already displayed in Perspective (for example, a side scan mosaic or bathy DTM) you can use the Search function to list all S-57 charts that cover the area, however the search is only performed on .7CB files that already exist in the SENC folder.
Locate the program Batch Map Utilities.exe in the Perspective folder and double click to launch.
Select the Input and Output Directories, checking Recursive causes the program to look within all sub directories.

This will convert all .000 files in the \ENC folder to .7CB files in the \SENC folder.
This can take a long time - for example converting all the files that cover the US may take 15 -20 mins, however once the process is done finding and loading charts into Perspective is much faster.
Note that the Search/Find function in Batch Map Utilities is not working at the moment.
Assuming the .7CB files for your area exist in the \SENC folder click File>Import>ENC (S57)
Then Search:

A list of all S-57 charts for your area will be displayed - highlight one and click OK to display.
