Using Isis® and SB-Logger with the Edgetech FSIU/FSSB System.

Describing a typical set up with Isis Sonar collecting the side scan data and SB-Logger collecting the Sub Bottom profiler data, both application can run on a single PC or on separate systems.  With slight modifications this setup can be used with any combined SSS/SBP system.

Setting up Isis

Configure Isis for the Edgetech FSIU sonar:

Configure the Isis navigation input as NMEA0183:

In Isis, set up an ASCII report (Tools>ASCII report) to output the navigation string to SB-Logger:

NOTE:

Eliminate titles, Field separator = <space>,  enter correct port number and then “Configure port”

Enter {TELEMOUT} as shown for Com port2:

When the sonar is running and scrolling data in Isis (note that the sonar must be running) and navigation is present at COM3 the output from COM 2 should look like this, (you could check with Hypertminal)
