Real time transfer of Targets to Triton Map from MB/SS-Logger (Isis)

Overview

One of the options in TargetPro is the real-time transfer of both the Target Position and a high-resolution image of a Target to Triton Map with the creation of a Contact layer in Triton Map.

Important Update in TargetPro v 7.3.548.51 (5/7/2010)

This version of TargetPro has a feature that allows the user to select the processed navigation from the mosaic to obtain better accuracy.

Please follow this link for details.  Also the Addendum at the end of this document.

Procedure

Start Triton Map and open a project containing a Side Scan Mosaic image (.DDS_VIF file) previously generated with Isis and Triton Map:

Start Isis and playback one of the XTF files from the same area, generally this would be one of the original XTF files from which the mosaic was created:

Configure TargetPro to send the data to Triton Map

Click on Tools>Target in Isis to launch TargetPro:

In TargetPro click on Tools>Configuration:

In the TargetPro Configuration dialog, check the box Import Saved Contact in DelphMap:

Hit OK to exit.

Check the link between Isis and Triton Map

Back in Isis, note that a single left-click in the waterfall window generates a small blue cross on the Mosaic in Triton Map, click the re-draw symbol to clear these as necessary:

Generate a Target from Isis and Save it

Double-click directly on a Target in the Isis waterfall to re-launch TargetPro and display a small area around the chosen Target:

Hit File>Save - (or Hit F9)

Click Yes to confirm:

Over in Triton Map you may receive this error message.  It indicates that for the size of Target chosen there was insufficient Navigation data to create the image:

Change the size of the saved image if necessary

Close TargetPro and return to Isis, Click Tools>Target Setup...

Increase the size of the Target Saved by Isis from 256 x 256 to 512 x 512, hit OK to Exit

Repeat the double-click on the Target in the Isis waterfall window, then save the Target again:

The Triton Map window should update with a yellow circle and cross and a small full resolution image superimposed on the original Mosaic:

In the tree view click the + signs to see the extra layers that have been created, they may be turned on and off in the usual way.

Zoom in on the image in Triton Map, nate the small Target image is at the full-resolution of the original data in the XTF file.
