Interfacing to the Edgetech combined Systems (DSS 2000 etc)

All Edgetech system use one of the standard Edgetech Ethernet software interfaces:

For Side Scan (Isis and SS-Logger)

Edgetech 4200

Edgetech FS-AS

For Sub Bottom Profiler (SB-Logger)

Edgetech FSSB

In a combined system the user must run both Isis (SS-Logger) and SB-Logger either on separate PCs or both on one PC.  Modern PCs are quite capable of running both applications at the same time.

Navigation

If both SS-Logger and SB-Logger are configured to run on the same PC then the navigation needs only to be sent to Isis (SS-Logger).  The user can then configure the ASCII report in Isis (SS-Logger) to send the navigation data to SB-Logger internally a Virtual Serial Port.  Thus saving a serial port and the need to "split" the serial navigation data stream.

Setting up the Ethernet connections

The following links from the standard Triton Guides describes the method of connecting both Isis (SS-Logger) and SB-Logger to the different Edgetech sonars:
