Triton Imaging wins Port of Los Angeles Contract for Underwater Port SecurityWatsonville, California , USA , June 5, 2008 - Triton Imaging announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the Port of Los Angeles to provide an “Underwater Explosive Detection System” based on the Triton HarborSuite. The integrated system is designed to provide protection from underwater IEDs by integrating seabed image data collected by port survey operations and making it readily available to port police dive units by point and click on a displayed map of the port. Triton will upgrade the port’s survey system with the high-resolution Reson 7125 multibeam sonar. Bathymetric, sidescan, and other underwater image data collected by the LA survey team will be accessed on laptops running the HarborSuitePD software. Police units will have the ability to access baseline images and compare with recently-collected imagery to confirm that the seabed is clear of foreign objets.
