Watsonville, California, USA, July 10, 2006 –
Triton Imaging, Inc., today introduced Triton SB-Interpreter™,
designed to simplify and automate the interpretation of high-resolution,
shallow seismic data. This new product joins Triton
SB-Logger™, Triton's
seismic data acquisition package released last year to round out
the comprehensive Triton product line. SB-Interpreter is the second
Triton product to be released that has been designed and built
around the new Triton architecture, which employs temporal caching
to accomplish high speed processing of large data sets.
SB-Interpreter includes the map and profile views shown below.
The map view shows geo-coded survey tracks accurately co-registered
with GeoTIFF imagery or S-57 electronic charting of the survey
area. Processing capabilities include filtering of navigation,
application of layback, and filtering / processing of seismic profile
data. Reflector digitizing is a simple matter with SB-Interpreter's
broad set of intelligent drawing tools. Line crossings are shown
in both map and profile views to ensure consistency and overall
data accuracy. Geo-coded reflector data is exported according to
user-specified parameters and processed for reflector surface creation.
SB-Interpreter is fast to set up, easy to operate, and offers maximum
information display.

Watsonville, CA, May 23, 2006. Triton Imaging, Inc announced today that its AUV-Suite post-mission analysis (PMA) software participated in recent Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) Mine Countermeasure trials conducted by the NATO Undersea Research Center (NURC). The Triton software was used by the Royal Norwegian Navy with their HUGIN 1000 vehicle to process sidescan and multibeam data and to acquire, analyze, and identify targets during the exercise. The configuration of the AUV-Suite during the exercise consisted of the four-screen display shown in the image below.

The Commander, Mine Warfare Command (CMWC) UUV Platoon evaluated the performance of Triton’s software during the exercise and made the following recommendation, “The Triton Imaging, AUV-Suite PMA software had robust and advanced capabilities with an operator-friendly graphical user interface, better than any PMA software package observed or used by the UUV Platoon. Incorporation of this software or another package with similar features is recommended for any shipboard U.S. UUV system.”

Watsonville, California, USA, May 01, 2006 – Triton Imaging, Inc., a leader of seafloor search and survey software products, announced today the release of enhancements to its industry-standard eXtended Triton Format (XTF) specification. The new Version 18 of the XTF specification adds two new sonar manufacturer-specific datagrams to the standard format. The first expands XTF to satisfy the special requirements of some single-beam echosounders as well as the newer technology of multi-transducer echosounders. The second improvement modernizes XTF to accommodate the latest generation of side scan sonars that use a weighting factor to improve dynamic range and increase image quality.
Both of these additions are in support of Triton’s commitment to keep XTF abreast with technology developments. Promoting and supporting open data formats within the marine technology industry continues to be a Triton priority. Sonar manufacturers are encouraged to contact the Triton technical support team at [email protected], or at (831)722-7373 to learn more about other enhancements in the pipeline. Version 18 of the XTF specification document is available for download from our website.

Watsonville, California, USA, April 12 , 2006 – Industry experts attending the recent Oceanology International conference in London got a sneak preview of some of the exciting work-in-progress at Triton Imaging.
The new Triton TAP processing software continued to demonstrate Triton's focus on increasing automation and reducing operating costs through innovation. TAP features temporal and geographic fusion of disparate sensor data. All files for a survey can be opened and are available for analysis and intepretation with selection of a single folder containing all sensor data; sidescan, sub-bottom, multibeam, video, digital camera, mag, etc. The unique temporal displays of TAP show sensor data as tracks very similar to a video editing application. By moving the selector to any point in the time line, all sensor data collected at that time is quickly displayed. The techology under the hood that permits this quick, temporally registered, access to all sensor data is a unique caching system developed by Triton.

Mosaics, DTMs, and other geo-coded products are easily created in TAP's map display with the push of a single button. Selecting a geographic point, say on an S-57 chart in TAP's map display, automatically and instantanously moves TAP's sensor data displays to the corresponding point in time when the data at that point was collected. This blend of temporal and geographic data fusion is new in the industry and will lead to faster and more efficient processing of complex, multi-sensor data sets.
