Triton Software Equipment Compatibility
|
Triton software works well with common survey platforms and can acquire and/or process geophysical datasets from most major sonar manufacturers. Presented
below are the different survey platforms supported by Triton software with a table indicating sonar compatibility.
|
SURVEY PLATFORMS
|
|
|
|
Vessel Mounted Systems
For hull or pole-mounted systems, on manned or remotely operated surface vessels, Triton software utilizes vessel geometry files
for describing offsets measured between installed survey equipment and for patch test results.

|
Towed Systems
Triton acquisition software is compatible with most cable-out counters and can compute towfish position in real-time. Towfish depth can be computed from pressure sensor
data from the towfish. Tools for layback error corrections are embedding in Perspective including multiple map views for measuring the distance between the
same object imaged on overlapping lines, applying static layback offsets to correct for towfish position, and a move line utility for aligning objects. For deep-towed
systems, USBL/LBL navigation is used with pressure sensor data for towfish depth.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs)
Surveying using AUVs with Triton software uses a similar vessel geometry configuration as a surface vessel. While the offsets between equipment can
be accurately measured, the exact position of the AUV during the survey can be difficult to determine. Triton processing software includes tools for
determining navigation drift, manually moving lines to align objects, or to export/re-import navigation data from the raw data files to run third-party
scripts to correct the position of the AUV over the length of the survey. AUV line turns can be snipped into extra files or ignored during processing
with a user-defined heading filter.

Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs)
Surveying with ROVs is very similar to deep-towed systems with USBL/LBL navigation for vehicle position and pressure sensor data for depth. ROV
tracking with Triton's SurveyPro package includes data quality monitors and real-time data processing. Multiple-pass navigation processing in
Perspective removes USBL position noise for higher quality results.

SONAR COMPATIBILITY
|
|
Listed below are sonars that Triton software is compatible with. Please note that this list is subject to change as new formats
are released and old formats are changed. If your sonar manufacturer is not listed below, please check with us to see if it is supported.
